Maran: Catania stars have been well replaced
Alejandro Gomez, Giovanni Marchese and Francesco Lodi have all departed Sicily over the summer but the man in charge at the Angelo Massimino is in confident mood ahead of the season’s start.
“We have changed little since last year, yes major players are gone but there are others here who are equally important and players have arrived at the club and we do not regret anything that happened,” he said to Radio Deejay.
He also spoke about some of the players who have been brought in such as Panagiotis Tachtsidis and Gino Peruzzi who big things are expected of.
“Tachtsidis will play the right way here and he is a bit different from Lodi but plays with more strength and I am satisfied that what I have seen of him so far that he will be a good player.
“Peruzzi has not trained with us due to injury but is an excellent player and can express himself in the right way here so I believe he will be a standout.”
