Midfielder confident about AC Milan project
AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong has defended the current transfer policy of the Diavolo and insisted that the current team is able to conquer the title despite the fact that the team is young and still under development.
The Rossoneri have not spend spectacular money on new signings so far this summer and there are no signals that the club will change their strategy of implanting young promising players.
“When a club decides to focus on young players you need time to make progression and I think as a team we are making progression,” de Jong told Gazetta dello Sport.
“The model we are working with refers to the strategy of Ajax which is familiar to me: Give youngsters the change to develop.
“Of course, if you take a look at the recent transfer moves in Italy and how much money was spend there is a difference, but you should never give up. There are multiple roads to victory.
“Who is the favorite to win the Scudetto? What name is on my shirt? Milan.”
