MorattiInter president Massimo Moratti has revealed that he still plans to contribute to the club despite the imminent arrival of new investor Erick Thohir.

The Indonesian businessman has been in talks to purchase a majority stake of the Nerazzurri for months now, and many are still wondering what role Moratti will play at the new look club once the deal is expected to go through on September 3.

Moratti spoke to reporters as he was leaving the Inter headquarters on Thursday and commented on the situation with Thohir.

“This Board of Directors meeting was to conclude last season, nothing more,” said the 68-year-old.

“We talked about the way the team is going, the transfer strategy and the rest. There is satisfaction.

“Is this my last board meeting? No, it’s not. It seems to me you already know enough about this, as I read things in the papers that even I didn’t know.

“In reality there are negotiations going on and it involves people with their own sensibilities. In any case, there is fondness between us, but there are still some aspects to clarify.

“It can be a new beginning, but I will continue to collaborate in one form or another. I see this as an intention to build something important that doesn’t exclude one person or another.

“It’s like when there are two parents who both want what is best for their son: that’s the direction we’re going in.”
