Reports in England have stated that Liverpool have turned down a €10 million bid for defender Martin Skrtel by Napoli.
The 28-year-old has been linked with the Partenopei ever since Rafa Benitez became coach. Benitez signed the Slovakian international five years ago for the Anfield club.
The Daily Mirror have reported that the €10m bid was turned down because of a serious injury to Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates, who could be out for six months.
Rumours suggested that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers would be prepared to do business for Skrtel but Coates injury now means he is required as backup for Daniel Agger and new signing Kolo Toure.
Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg and Premier League rivals Manchester City were also reportedly keeping tabs on the defender.
Skrtel made 33 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions in 2012/13.
