Blerim Dzemaili - NapoliNapoli midfielder Blerim Dzemaili was impressed with his side’s performance in their Week 1 victory over Bologna, but warned that the Partenopei can not get carried away with the season having only just begun.

The Partenopei ran out convincing 3-0 winners at the San Paolo with debutant Jose Callejon opening the scoring and captain Marek Hamsik bagging an impressive brace in a match which the home side dominated from start to finish.

“Against Bologna I got a great impression from the squad,” the Swiss international told Radio KissKiss.

“We’re aware of our strength and ready also to suffer when needed. We expect a long and tough campaign, with the Coppa Italia and the Champions League as difficult commitments. We have to keep our feet on the ground.”

With star striker Edinson Cavani leaving for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer, the Azzurri moved to sign Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain, and Dzemaili believes that the acquisitions made by the club make them a fearsome prospect for any side.

“[Gonzalo] Higuain and [Edinson] Cavani? They are two very strong players. With our style of play we really need Higuain,” he continued.

“The Champions League draw? Lots of teams fear us, none of the big sides want to meet Napoli.”

The Azzurri have been been drawn in Group F of the Champions League with English giants Arsenal, Marseille and last year’s runners-up Borussia Dortmund. They are set to kick off their European campaign at the San Paolo against Dortmund on September 18.
