Napoli starlet set to sign contract extension
The Italian international is poised for a breakout season with the Partenopei and Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is keen to lock up the talented 22-year-old to a long term deal.
Insigne’s agent has revealed that terms have been agreed to, with the player’s signature all that is missing for the deal to be completed.
“We have received a phone call where we are asked to be patient, but everything is ready and it does not matter whether the signature is added before or after the game against Chievo,” Fabio Andreotti told Si Gonfia La Rete.
“I have great faith in De Laurentiis. Last year he made it clear that he wanted to keep Lorenzo at Napoli, whereas we agents wanted him to go and mature at another club.
“De Laurentiis has always kept his promises and it is his objective to keep Insigne at Napoli for life.”
Insigne’s new deal will run until 2018 and will see him earn €700,000 a season plus bonuses.
