Pizarro reiterates desire to stay with Fiorentina
The 33-year-old Chilean international’s contract runs out in June 2014, and the Gigliati are thought to be close to signing Hellas Verona starlet Jorginho as a backup for the veteran midfielder, but Pizarro reportedly has no plans to leave the Stadio Artemio Franchi at the end of the current season.
“A meeting with the club is not on my agenda, but I would like to stay,” he told Firenzeviola.it.
“A backup in my role? That’s up to the club, I just do my work.”
Pizarro did request a transfer from the club earlier in the summer, but later decided against leaving the Viola.
“A player has left who I believe to be strong, but unfortunately he decided to leave: I wish him luck.”
Former Udinese regista Pizarro has managed four goals in 32 appearances for Fiorentina since moving from Eternal City side Roma in 2012.
