Prandelli to stick with 4-3-2-1 against Argentina
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli is expected to stick with the 4-3-2-1 formation that was debuted during the Confederations Cup for the friendly with Argentina on the evening of August 14.
It is thought that there are still some uncertainties in the mind of the Azzurri boss as the season has not yet started and there will be some experimentation.
As Mario Balotelli is injured, it is thought that Roma’s Argentine-born Daniel Pablo Osvaldo will be the sole striker with Antonio Candreva of Lazio and Emanuele Giaccherini of Sunderland behind in support.
It is though that Paris Saint Germain’s 20-year-old Marco Verratti will share duties with Juventus’s international veteran Andrea Pirlo in midfield, with one player replacing the other at half-time although it is not yet known who will start.
Similarly, Leonardo Bonucci of Juventus is only expected to feature for one half of the fixture.
