Roma coach angered by Strootman injury
Reports in Monday’s newspapers suggest that Strootman could be out for up to a month after he went off during Roma’s 2-1 win.
“We’ll see if Strootman’s injury is serious or not. Of course, I hope not,” said Garcia after the Dutchman went off with a sprained ankle.
Garcia was clearly upset at the hard tackling from the Ternana players during the friendly with the start of the new Seria A season just a week away.
Strootman and Federico Balzaretti scored the goals in a 2-1 win in a match which also saw Gervinho make his debut for the Giallorossi.
“It was a good first half, even if I didn’t like the fact we conceded a goal. The team is working hard. Douglas Maicon played the whole game, which was important for him and the team, while Gervinho is settling in.”
The coach also commented on the rumours that Tottenham have made bids for Erik Lamela and Miralem Pjanic.
“We will be stronger if we keep the current squad, but we’ll have to wait and see with regards to the future.”
Roma directors have been in London speaking to Spurs’ technical director Franco Baldini regarding these offers.
