Roma forward’s agent refutes claims he is to meet Tottenham Hotspur
The 21-year-old Argentine international has been linked with a switch to the North London club, with Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas keen to add to his attacking options at White Hart Lane.
However, Sabbag spoke directly to Ansa to clarify the situation, and denied reports on Tuesday that Lamela’s entourage flew to England to meet with Tottenham officials.
“I’m not in London, what they say doesn’t correspond to the truth,” he said.
“I am now in the [Italian] capital together with Erik [Lamela's] father.
“What is the situation? Lamela is calm, we are waiting. We’ll see what happens.”
Buenos Aires native Lamela has been with the Lupi since making the move from River Plate in 2011, and so far has 21 goals in 66 appearances for the Eternal City club.
