Mamadou Sakho PSGRoma are set to open talks with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday regarding a move for out-of-favour defender Mamadou Sakho.

The Giallorossi are set to be big spenders in the final days of the transfer window as Erik Lamela is set to join Tottenham for over €30 million and will likely bring in several players to reinforce the squad for the new season.

Sky Sport reports that the capital club are keen to bring in Sakho to shore up the club’s defence after the sale of Marquinho to PSG earlier in the summer.

With Sakho keen to leave the Parisians in order to secure regular first team football, a move to Roma could be the perfect solution for the former PSG captain whose contract expires in 2014.

Sakho, who was brought up through the PSG youth system, was promoted to the first team in 2007 and has since gone on to make 151 appearances for the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
