Roma striker returns to Italy for Argentina friendly

Osvaldo - RomaRoma striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has been recalled to the Italian national team for the Azzurri’s match against Argentina next week.

The match will see the two footballing nations square off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome in honour of Pope Francis.

Osvaldo did not feature for the Azzurri at this summer’s Confederations Cup after insulting Roma coach Aurelio Andreazzoli via Twitter after last season’s Coppa Italia final.

Other notable inclusions are Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne,  Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi and Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti who all featured for the Azzurrini at the European Championship this summer.
