Roma target replacement for Tottenham Hotspur bound forward
With Argentine forward Erik Lamela expected to complete a €35 million move to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini will be looking for two new attacking players to add to coach Rudi Garcia’s roster.
Lamela’s departure will leave the Giallorossi somewhat short in the striking department, with Pablo Daniel Osvaldo recently being sold to Southampton and Mattia Destro a long-term absentee through injury, so new signings are a necessity.
According to la Gazzetta dello Sport, for the role of wide-attacker, Sabatini is keeping tabs on 21-year-old Fiorentina forward Adem Ljajic’s situation in Florence, and could pounce should the opportunity present itself.
The Eternal City club are keen to take Senegalese international Ba on loan with a right to buy, however it remains to be seen if the Stamford Bridge side would agree to such a proposal.
