Seedorf: I left AC Milan because of Allegri
After 10 years of duty for the Rossoneri the 37-year-old Dutchman left the San Siro in the summer of 2012 to play for Brazilian club Botafogo.
“I could have stayed, but I wanted a big challenge that would bring back my motivation again,” Seedorf told Fifa.com.
“I didn’t want to stay any longer because I wanted to play, but Allegri didn’t use me that much: he only played me in the bigger games.
“Because I had been on the bench for the previous games, I had lost my match sharpness.
“I am a player who needs games and the way he behaved towards me didn’t help either.”
Seedorf was part of speculation in the summer as reports suggested that the playmaker had been eyed by Silvio Berlusconi to replace Allegri as coach of the Rossoneri.
