Serie A 2013/14: Top 10 players to look out for
The 2013/14 Serie A season begins August 24 and there’s a sense of excitement across the peninsula.
New signings have bolstered the top squads, while the newly promoted sides have shown ambition in the market and will make life difficult for those battling to secure their Serie A status.
Because of the income of players along with the established stars, there are plenty to watch out for this campaign.
Due to the immense talent in the league, Forza Italian Football concocted the top 10 players to watch out for this Serie A season.
Teams such as Juventus were linked with 23-year-old Giacomo Bonaventura during the summer and rightfully so. The Atalanta starlet made his club debut at 18 and has gradually progressed over five years.
His eight goals in 36 matches in all competitions is second best in terms of scoring, but it was everything else along with the goals that sparked interest from other outfits.
Bonaventura, who operates best in behind the strikers, causes a ruckus for defenders with his terrific technique and vision. However, despite all of this, no one was able to secure his services.
It’s understandable given that it’s a World Cup year, and the Italian probably feels like he’ll get more time if he stays in Bergamo, but regardless, it’s still a big year for the diminutive attacker.
If he continues to develop, not only will he create even more attention amongst other clubs, but Azzurri coach Cesare Prandelli will probably add him to the World Cup squad. He received his first cap for the Nazionale this past May against San Marino. If he can brightly shine in 2013/14, all of that can become a reality.
