Torino striker focused on league opener after Coppa Italia elimination
The 23-year-old suggested that he and the club’s other new signings were still integrating themselves with coach Giampiero Ventura’s formation but the fans will soon see the benefits of their work during pre-season.
“The game [versus Pescara] teaches us many things and luckily the defeat happened immediately so we removed this thought,” Immobile told Tuttomercatoweb.
“It is true that in the course of the game we had a lot chances to score, but football is so that if you do not finish well chances are lost, however, we have done what the coach asked us to do and then opportunities we have produced and slowly we can also get the ball into the net.
“The team played with so many new players and who have to learn a new module and since it is only a month that we work together you cannot ask for more.
“To all this must be added the workloads that are important, but now we have to focus on the match on Sunday with Sassuolo and prepare the best in order to redeem us immediately.
“With Marcelo [Larrono] I feel good and he fed the ball [for me] to score against Pescara, while Alessio [Cerci] unfortunately due to less time spent training together we have not the automatic understanding, but he is a great champion and is very important for all of us and for the team and we will improve.”
