Torino want Sampdoria veteran
Maresca, who famously scored a vital goal for rivals Juventus against Torino back in a February 2002 Turin derby, is now wanted by Torino.
The 33-year-old is now available for transfer as he is no longer part of Sampdoria’s plans, something which according to Gazzetta dello Sport have made Torino very interested in the midfielder.
Maresca, who joined Sampdoria from Malaga in Spain last year, only played seven games last season scoring two goals.
The former Italian U-21 international midfielder has had a long career, playing for various clubs such as West Bromwich Albion, Bologna, Fiorentina, Sevilla, Malaga, Juventus and Piacenza.
His famous goal annoyed Torino fans back in 2002, not because that he had scored, but they were angry as he mimicked the bull goal celebration of Torino’s own Marco Ferrante.
