AC Milan’s Galliani: Honda might still arrive in January
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has stated that CSKA Moscow midfielder Keisuke Honda could still arrive in January despite the signing of Brazilian midfielder Kaka on the final day of the transfer window.
The 31-year-old trequartista rejoined the Rossoneri from Real Madrid after the Diavolo’s unsuccessful pursuit of Japanese international Honda during the summer, but with Honda now in the final six months of his contract in the Russian capital, he would be available on a Bosman free transfer in January.
“The market has been closed for one day, let’s wait. In the January market we’ll talk about it further,” Galliani told a press conference.
“Kaka to stay for two years? There’s no relay race with [Keisuke] Honda.
“For Honda we’ll see in January. There’s no [LA] Galaxy, there’s no relay race, but a two-year contract.”
Kaka’s arrival at the San Siro has reportedly signalled a change in tactics for Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri, and the former Cagliari technician may now need another playmaker to alternate with the Brazilian number 22.
