Atalanta coach satisfied with performance against Napoli
All of the action came in the second half as Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon scored for Napoli and La Dea midfielder Luca Cigarini was given a red card in the 74th minute after receiving a second booking for a sloppy tackle on Callejon.
Colantuno spoke to Mediaset Premium after the match and admitted that Atalanta are mainly focused on remaining in Serie A.
“It’s been difficult to deal with the Azzurri,” said the tactician.
“Certainly the expulsion of Cigarini further complicated the task. However, I’m satisfied with the performance. It’s a sin to be left with 10 men.
“Cigarini’s second foul could have been avoided.
“Our goals do not change. Our season in the league will be of great suffering. We are aiming for safety and hope we can manage to still stay in Serie A.”
