Bertolacci confident Genoa will improve
After two consecutive Serie A defeats and an exit from the Coppa Italia, Genoa midfielder Andrea Bertolacci has called for calm as he expects the side to reverse their early season form under the guidance of Fabio Liverani.
The 22-year-old pointed to the club’s tough fixture list to start the season as the Rossoblu have played Inter at the San Siro on opening day before hosting Scudetto challengers Fiorentina last weekend.
“The fixture list hasn’t favoured us,” Bertolacci told Sky Sports Italia.
“We’ve taken on two sides in Inter and Fiorentina who are fighting for important targets.
“We are only a few games into the campaign and there is no need to make a drama out of things.
“Genoa are here and fighting and we’ll show that in the derby against Sampdoria. We have 15 days to work and prove that we are a strong side.
“We are following the indications of boss Fabio Liverani, someone who has excellent qualities. He’ll prove that along with us.”
