Cesar: I never thought of leaving Queens Park Rangers
The 34-year-old was reportedly in talks with Serie A clubs Napoli and Fiorentina, but no deals were made in either case and the teams dropped interest, though the Viola were originally expected to make a swoop for the player in the last days of the summer transfer window.
Cesar spoke to Globoesporte about staying with the relegated London club and insisted that he had no real intentions of moving from them.
“I’ve never thought about leaving Queens Park Rangers,” said the Brazilian international.
“[Luiz Felipe] Scolari said that he will keep an eye on those who play in the smaller leagues, so it has given me a certain peace of mind ahead of the World Cup.
“I don’t think that playing in the Football League Championship could jeopardise my call for the World Cup next year.”
