The Rossoblu had started the season poorly after losing to both Inter and Fiorentina, defeats which had increased the pressure on new boss Fabio Liverani.
“We wanted to make up for the defeat against Fiorentina,” the 29-year-old continued.
“The international break arrived which allowed us to prepare well for the game. It was a deserved victory because we were perfect defensively.
“There was no problem with the coach. The president had already given him his full backing and Liverani deserved that.”
