Hellas Verona bus attacked after Roma match
It’s been reported that a group of Giallorossi supporters bombarded the Gialloblu bus, which was carrying players and coaching staff, with stones and iron bars, shattering a few of the vehicle’s windows in the process.
A statement from club president Maurizio Setti regarding the incident was released on the official Hellas Verona website.
“It’s a fact of unprecedented severity and it’s regrettable to have to comment on such an occurrence,” said the president.
“Miraculously, no one was hurt. It expresses the solidarity of our coach, technical staff, and players present on the bus, who were scared by this happening.
“The throwing of iron bars and stones does not belong in football. A serious event like this had happened to our fans in Palermo and today has repeated itself even against the team.
“We need to find remedies for this and issue exemplary punishment to those who adopt such delinquent behaviour.”
