Inter could be the next destination for out-of-favour Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby, it has been reported.

The German signed for Spurs from Schalke in January and made 11 Premier League appearances in the remainder of the 2012/13 season.

However, this summer the Lilywhites added numerous new faces to their midfield, and Holtby has subsequently made just one league appearance, as a substitute.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Inter could take advantage of the 22-year-old’s lack of playing time in London. The Nerazzurri could apparently secure his services in the January transfer window for as little as €1.5 million.

The Milan side’s interest in Holtby is nothing new. Reports last winter claimed that Inter were in negotiations with his agent for a deal before Tottenham secured the deal.

Of course Daniel Levy will sell a young and highly rated midfielder for 1 Million Pounds, after only a year, and for a loss…WHAT PLANET DO YOU LIVE ON?!

It would be a serious mistake to sell Holtby. What makes us powerful this season is having a deep squad. We lost Capoue to injury and have been able to cover his absence, effortlessly. AVB has said, all along that the idea is that we can replace ANY player in the squad with a perfectly good and competitive back up. If Eriksen gets injured then who is there? Same goes for Paulinho. Holtby is a versatile player who will get plenty of game time this season/ A few days ago, it was Sigurdsson who was in this position. Now look what he just did against Norwich, when given his opportunity! COYS!

Lewis Holtby is shaping up to be the next Kevin-Prince Boateng, a player we got rid of far too early without giving him much of a chance. I hope we could learn from previous errors, but the seems to be a lot of chat about Holtby going, I hope it is wrong.

What utter drivel! Holtby was a great bargain buy and is an integral part of AVB’s squad, he is going nowhere. The idea that Levy is going to sell him to Inter for 1.5 million is even more risible. Why do people regurgitate or give any credence to this media generated garbage.

  5. What a shit load of bs!!!
Spurs won’t sell holtby and even if he goes, it would be 15mil+
Spurs got him that cheap bcoz his contract ended not that his value is that much. He’s captain of germany u21 for gods sake.

  6. I like Holtby, particularly his attitude, energy and enthusiasm ..and that’s half the battle in player giving his all for a club. Given time, he could be a real driving force for Spurs in midfield. He obviously loves the club, and while he’s going to be overshadowed for a season or two, he’s going to develop into a top player. A loan-out could be an option, but I also agree that we could only be a couple of injuries away from really needing him. We can’t think about selling him ..it isn’t an option!

Rubbish! He came back from the Euro U21’s injured and has been playing for our U21’s as part of his recuperation. Shoddy journalism.
