Inter continue their pursuit of Porto midfielder
The 26-year-old Brazilian was reportedly a target of the Nerazzurri throughout the summer but a move to the San Siro failed to materialise.
According to Sportitalia this failure has not dented the Biscione’s determination to sign ‘The Octopus’ and there have been meetings with the player’s representatives to discuss the possibility of a move in an upcoming transfer window.
There is also the possibility of the player agreeing to a pre-contract with Inter as he will soon be free to enter discussions with other clubs as his current deal expires in June 2014.
It is believed that this would be a last resort for the Beneamata, as they currently enjoy good relations with Porto and would rather not damage them by acting in a way that could be perceived as disrespectful in their pursuit of Fernando.
Fernando has scored two goals in 117 appearances for the Dragoes from Vila Nova in 2007.
