Inter defender could leave next summer
Inter defender Cristian Chivu could reportedly leave the Nerazzurri at the end of the season to take up a position within the Romanian national team set-up.
The 32-year-old was linked with a move away from the Giuseppe Meazza over the summer, with Turkish side Galatasaray mooted as as a possible destination, but the veteran eventually decided to stay and end his playing career with the Beneamata.
According to ProSport, the player, who has not been a regular fixture in Inter’s starting 11 for some time, could now be set to take a position in the international set-up of his native Romania at the end of the 2013/14 season.
Chivu needs to wear a helmet every time he plays due to skull fracture suffered after a clash a heads with Chievo striker Sergio Pellissier in January 2010, and he has seen his playing time for the Milanese giants limited due to a succession of injuries.
