Juventus make late move for Genoa forward
The 31-year-old striker rejoined the Grifone this summer after he spend a season on loan at Bologna and scored his first goal of the season during the 2-5 home loss against his former club Fiorentina last Sunday.
“It’s not right that the big clubs ask for players on the final day of the window and some players then ask to be sold on deadline day,” Genoa president Enrico Preziosi told Gianlucadimarzio.com when asked about a possible departure of Gilardino from Genoa.
“If someone wants to leave then they just need to raise their hand and assume some responsibility.
“However, if we have no replacements available then nothing will happen. But we have an alternative. Actually we have alternatives.”
A possible transfer of Gilardino to Juventus could be the starting point of more striker related transfers on deadline day as Fabio Quagliarella (Juventus) and Marco Borriello (Roma) are also being linked to other clubs.
