Juventus midfielder enjoying new role
The Chilean international has been an influential player for Antonio Conte’s side since joining from German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.
Although only two domestic matches into this Serie A campaign, Vidal has once again proved his importance in both of the Bianconeri’s wins thus far, playing in more of a free role while scoring two goals and providing an assist in the recent 4-1 defeat of Lazio.
“In my current role I feel really good,” he told Chilean newspaper La Tercera prior to his sides World Cup qualifier against Venezuela on Saturday.
“I have lots of opportunities to get in the box and score.
“I have to try and free myself from markers, but also defend as well.
“I feel really comfortable at the moment.”
The 26-year-old midfielder finished last season as the champions’ top goalscorer with 15 goals in all competitions.
