In the event that Luis Suarez exits Liverpool in the near future the Premier League side have identified fellow South American Luis Muriel of Udinese as the successor to the Uruguayan striker.

Brendan Rodgers’ side were linked with the Colombian when Suarez had been agitating for a move away from Anfield during the summer, however, with the club standing firm to retain the former Ajax man the Zebrette also tied Muriel to a new long-term contract in Udine.

Despite signing until 2018 the Bianconeri have are also planning for the 22-year-olds departure it would seem with the Daily Express reporting that they will move for Brazilian youngster Bruno Gomes.

The striker currently with Brazilian development side Desportivo Brasil has recently had a trial with Manchester United and Sao Paulo, but the Serie A side are confident of securing a deal for the starlet.

If Liverpool does finally move for Muriel the Udine club can expect to be well rewarded for their development of the attacker who scored 11 times in 22 league appearances last season.
