Montolivo praises Prandelli’s mix of youth and experience
Ahead of the World Cup qualifier with the Czech Republic on Tuesday night Italy midfielder Riccardo Montolivo has spoken of the balance coach Cesare Prandelli has found with the Azzurri by mixing their experienced elements with youth.
However, despite having the opportunity to qualify in Turin with two games still to play the AC Milan captain was quick to remind the awaiting media that Czech’s held the Azzurri to a 0-0 draw back in June.
“I believe that in a group there must be a balance between leading players, samples, and the best emerging talent and I think Prandelli has always worked in this direction: the secret is to find the chemistry right.” Montolivo told Tuttomercatoweb.
“The model changes little, because the midfield has always been constant in these three years, we are calm.
“Participation in a World Cup can change the sporting life of a footballer.
“Our target is close, but we must remember where the first leg match of the Czech Republic put us in trouble.”
