Sampdoria striker looking to secure spot in Italy squad
The 21-year-old, who joined the Blucerchiati this summer and is co-owned by Juventus, has been called up to the senior Azzurri squad by coach Cesare Prandelli for the next round of 2014 World Cup qualifiers starting this week and wants to prove that he’s worthy of playing for his country.
Gabbiadini expressed his determination to do well this season and believes that he’s grown more as a player in the past year.
“My goal is to do very well with Sampdoria because I know that it will have a say on my future with the national team,” said the former Atalanta man.
“I’m happy with this new opportunity and I feel that I’ve grown a lot as compared to a year ago.”
