Sunderland midfielder sees similarities between Juventus coach and Di Canio
The 28-year-old signed a four-year deal with the Premier League side in July and believes that he made the right move, as he hopes to see more time on the pitch than he did in Italy with the Bianconeri.
Giaccherini spoke to Four Four Two about joining The Black Cats and conceded that he has a good relationship with his new coach.
“I’m happy with the decision I made, although I had to leave a top club like Juventus,” said the Italian international, who’s currently training with the Azzurri for their 2014 World Cup qualifiers that will take place this week and next week.
“I evaluated many factors, not just economic. For me it was both a lifestyle choice and a professional one because here I can play regularly.
“Di Canio? I have a great relationship with him. In some ways he’s very similar to Conte.”
