Udinese striker: I’d like to reach 200 goals this season
The veteran attacker has consistently been among the top scorers in Serie A over the past few seasons. However, the two-time Capocannoniere winner admits that it certainly won’t be easy to achieve the feat.
“I’d like to score 200 [goals] in the league,” the 35-year-old stated to reporters.
“However, I’d need to score another 24 to achieve that and I know that it will be quite difficult to do so.”
Despite his advancing years, Di Natale has scored at least 20 goals in his last four seasons and recognizes that he faces some stiff competition for the Capocannoniere this season by some new arrivals.
“Fiorentina’s Mario Gomez and Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain are two champions, very strong strikers, whom I’ve always admired and am quite pleased that they’re now in Italy.
“[I'm also excited] about the [arrival] of Kaka at Milan, who I feel is an exceptional player.”
The former Italian international is now in his tenth season with Udinese, with whom he signed in 2004 from Empoli where he began his professional career in 1996.
