Vargas aiming to prove himself at Fiorentina
After being given the chance to prove his himself in Florence Peruvian midfielder Juan Manuel Vargas has insisted that he will recapture his form and earn a starting place in Vincenzo Montella’s Fiorentina side.
The 29-year-old has struggled in the previous few seasons and spent the last campaign on loan at Serie A side Genoa where he also failed to make any notable impact, unable to score a single goal and making just 20 league appearances.
“I’m aware that fell far below my level, but now I’ve decided to get back to [my best] form ever,” Vargas told Tuttomercatoweb.
“I have made many mistakes and I do not want to repeat them.
“There is a new confidence in me, and I hope to return to earn a place in Fiorentina.”
After arriving in Italy with Catania the former Colon man’s form attracted interest from around Europe, however, it was the Viola who eventually secured the South American’s signature in July 2008 for €12 million.
