Zanetti: Inter are my second family
The 40-year-old has been out of the Nerazzurri squad for months now after injuring his Achilles tendon last season, but is currently in the process of returning to training and will be undergoing a check-up this week to determine how well he is healing.
Zanetti spoke about his condition and expressed his love for the club, while also commenting on one of his biggest achievements as a Biscione player, which was winning the Champions League in 2010.
“I’m doing better. I’ve started running and everything is going in the right direction,” said the veteran.
“How am I? Tuesday I will go for a check-up and if all goes well I’ll be able to increase my workloads.
“Inter? They’re my second family. I will never cease to thank the Inter fans.
“The hardest trophy to win? The Champions League. Inter had not won it for years.
“It was a privilege wearing the captain’s armband in the Bernabeu that night.
“That evening was memorable for all Inter fans.”
