AC Milan are rumoured to be interested in FC Nurnberg left-back Marvin Plattenhardt.

4-4-2.com has suggested that 21-year-old Plattenhardt is one of the key players who Milan will look to sign in the January window.

Milan have struggled defensively since the start of the season and may use the January transfer window to re-organise their defensive line.

Plattenhardt has been the preferred left-back for Nurnberg so far marking five starts out of eight in the current season.

Milan have already secured the services of Adil Rami who will take his medical tomorrow but will attempt to secure the left back position, providing a back up to Mattia De Sciglio.

De Sciglio’s recent injury has prompted Milan to realise they need a solid left-back replacement and cannot rely upon Kevin Constant or Urby Emanuelson.

The German would be available at a cut-price deal with his contract expiring at the end of this season.

Plattenhardt may be hard to secure for Milan as he is also being chased by German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Milan would have to be prepared to put in a tough bid as Plattenhardt may prefer a move to Borussia Dortmund over the Rossoneri.
