Fabian Schar BaselNapoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon will reportedly going to attend the World Cup qualifier between Albania and Switzerland to watch Swiss defender Fabian Schar.

After reportedly declining the opportunity to sign Valencia defender Adil Rami, the Partenopei are looking for the January transfer window to open and the 21-year-old Schar has caught the attention of Napoli coach Rafa Benitez.

Bigon will attend the World Cup qualifier at the Qemal Stafa Stadium in Tirana to keep an eye on the FC Basel centre-back, who has remarkably scored three goals for the Swiss in as many games.

Schar joined FC Basel in 2012 from hometown club FC Wil and in 53 matches for the Swiss giants, he has scored 12 goals.

Aside from his trio of caps for the senior squad, Schar was a member of Switzerland’s 2012 London Olympics football team which included Livorno striker Innocent Emeghara and Palermo defender Michel Morganella.
