Real Madrid will reportedly attempt to sign Juventus star Andrea Pirlo at the end of the season on a free transfer.

The Italian international is out of contract at the end of the season and several clubs are looking to offer the midfielder the chance of a move.

TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Real Madrid are very keen to sign the midfielder despite his age.

The 34-year-old was loudly applauded by the Santiago Bernabeu crowd as he left this pitch in during his side’s 2-1 loss to Real Madrid.

The Italian has been rumoured to a variety of other clubs including Manchester United but it is believed he would prefer to represent Real Madrid.

Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has been reportedly chased by Juventus fuelling speculation the players could swap sides.

Pirlo has made ten appearances for Juventus this season, scoring two goals.

Juventus signed Pirlo in 2011 from Milan on a free transfer and may leave the Bianconeri on a free transfer as well, unless the club and player mutually agree to extend the contact.
