Burdisso – Roma

Roma centre half Nicolas Burdisso has attracted transfer interest in the recent past, and although AC Milan want to clinch the defender’s signature as soon as possible, the Giallorossi are set to reject any such advances.

The 32-year-old Argentinian defender has only played one match for the capital club thus far this season, but Roma are adamant to keep him at the Olimpico until his contract expires in June.

Burdisso is expected to start against Sassuolo on Sunday, making him a guaranteed starter only in case coach Rudi Garcia is compelled to replace one of Mehdi Benatia or Leandro Castan.

Unlike previous seasons, the former Inter man has experienced a change of roles at the club. He is no longer guaranteed game time, but serves as a sort of guidance for the younger players in this new-look Roma side.

Burdisso, however, seems to be growing increasingly distraught with lack of first-team football and could be tempted to leave as a result, but whether or not I Lupi will concede the transfer to the Rossoneri remains to be seen.
