Atalanta captain Gianpaolo Bellini is set to miss the next four months of action after suffering a serious thigh injury over the weekend.
The 33-year-old was subbed off after only six minutes during the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 away defeat to Sassuolo on Sunday.
Tests show that the veteran will miss the next three to four months after the tendon in his right thigh became detached.
Atalanta currently sit in 9th place with 16 points from their first 13 league matches.
