Bologna 0-0 Chievo: Honours even in forgettable Dall’Ara draw

Bologna and Chievo played out a bore 0-0 draw at the Dall’Ara on Monday night’s Serie A offering.

In fact, bore draw would perhaps be too kind in describing a contest in which each side risked little and for both, a draw is hardly the result they would have wanted given their lowly table positions.

Alessandro Diamanti was wasteful throughout the first half, and indeed the game, with his deliveries given how reliable he usually is while Luca Rigoni fired wide for Giuseppe Sannino’s men in the first half.

The best Bologna could muster in that period was a Jonathan Cristaldo header which flashed wide of the target.

It took 58 minutes of action before a shot found its way on target when Christian Puggioni easily smothered an effort from distance but he had to be livelier to get down and deny substitute Davide Moscardelli’s low curler.

Boadu Acosty then showed blinding pace down the left to get past his marker but showed poor judgement in breaking into the box, forcing Gianluca Curci into a near post save when in truth he should have crossed for Alberto Paloschi.

Rolando Bianchi had an injury time strike crash into the side netting for the Rossoblu as he continued to chase his first Bologna goal as the game ended scoreless.
