Sampdoria coach Delio Rossi insisted that he is the right man to coach the Blucerchiati despite his team’s defeat to Sassuolo.

The Blucerchiati lost 4-3 at home to the Neroverdi and although he believes that he is the man to coach Sampdoria, the decision is not in his hands.

“I think about being the right person to guide [this team] but it is a question you must not give to me,” Rossi told Sky Sport Italia.

“This squad has spirit but we made the incredible ingenuity.

“You can’t take that 4-3 [loss] in that manner when you are down to 10 men.

Rossi spoke to Sampdoria directors Riccardo Sagramola and Carlo Osti after the match and reflected on it.

“We talked and analyzed the situation. That today was a big disappointment and a bad setback,” said Rossi.

“At times we were left in the hustle and wanted everything at once.

“This is typical of a team that is stuck in our situation.”
