Cerci – Torino

Torino forward Alessio Cerci has denied he is in talks with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old, who is having an excellent season with the Granata, has been paired with a move to a number of Premier League giants, but he has refuted the rumours.

“It’s not true. I haven’t spoken to anyone,” he told Tuttosport.

Meanwhile Torino president Urbano Cairo also moved to quash stories of a potential sale in January.

“I haven’t received any calls from England for Cerci, even if I read in the newspapers that there is interest from British clubs,” he said.

“As far as I am concerned, there’s no truth to it. Will he stay at Torino in January? Of course!”

Cerci has made 12 appearances in Serie A for Torino this season, scoring eight goals.

Isn’t it time players and clubs started suing hacks and their papers for their outright lies? 90% of supporters aren’t stupid enough to believe them and all that it does is cause trouble for the individuals concerned. I would also have agents found to have been the basis of these stories fined and banned by FIFA.
