Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin feels that his team dominated in their loss, saying that they regret not taking their chances.

The Zebrette fell 1-0 to Catania in Sicily on Saturday, but the visitors controlled the majority of the game.

Speaking to Mediaset, the tactician talked about the result and his future at the club.

“The match was always in our hands,” said Guidolin.

“We are bitter, but it’s not the referee’s fault, it’s ours. They must be protected and have the duty to do so, even if we we’re on the wrong end of a match.

“Today we were fast and sharp. The regret is not taking the chances that we deserved. We could not draw, but we responded following the poor performance against Inter.

“For three years now we have survived with very different squads, but the important thing is to have found the right spirit.”

The Italian then discussed the pressure he potentially feels as the Bianconeri continue to struggle.

“First of all I want to thank the five people who came from Udine. They taught us a lesson. Fans always tell the truth, we are a club with a certain type of budget and they know that.

“For the past 25 years, I have felt like I am at risk since I’ve started coaching. I have always taken my responsibility.”

Udinese temporarily remain in 10th place in the Serie A table.
