Manchester City defender Micah Richards may be looking for a route out of the club, but AC Milan are unlikely to be his destination.

With the England player having fallen out of favour with Manuel Pellegrini, it had been reported that the Rossoneri were a possible destination.

Dario Canovi, assistant to Richards’ agent Alexander Livac, spoke to MilanNews.it and asserted there was no substance to the story.

“I have not heard about Richards at Milan.” he claimed. “If Milan called the agent (Livac), I would be informed, but as I spoke with him today and the Rossoneri have not been in contact, I would say I cannot report.”

Canovi went on to explain his belief that the differences between leagues is diminishing.

“I think that football is universal, and no longer as it once was,” he noted. “Players who are good in England can also be good in Italy.”

Richards has spent his whole career with the Citizens, making more than two hundred appearances for the Manchester club, but has played only two league games this season.
