Bologna were eliminated from the Coppa Italia in the fourth round on Tuesday after succumbing to a 123rd minute extra time winner from Siena’s Zouhair Feddal.

The Serie B side had gone ahead after 78 minutes through Francesco Valiani before Davide Moscardelli equalised for the Rossoblu in the 85th minute.

Defeat at the Stadio Renato Dell’Ara extended Bologna’s winless run to five matches.

Inter were made to sweat for their win at home to Trapani on Wednesday evening. Despite going 3-0 up by half-time, thanks to goals from Fredy Guarin, Ishak Belfodil, and Saphir Taider, the Serie B side responded through  Cristian Caccetta and Giuseppe Madonia but could not pull off the upset at the San Siro.

Wednesday afternoon saw Chievo comfortably defeat Reggina 4-1. A brace from Alberto Paloschi, as well as goals from Matteo Ardemagni and Victor Da Silva meant the Flying Donkeys progress safely to the last 16, where they face Fiorentina away from home. Incidentally, Matteo Gentili scored for Reggina.

Atalanta face a tricky away tie at Napoli in the next round, after a 2-0 victory over Sassuolo courtesy of goals from Moussa Kone and Giuseppe De Luca.

In Tuesday’s early kick-off, Spezia saw off Pescara 3-0 through goals from Osarimen Ebagua, Marco Sansovini and Emanuel Rivas, though the Delfini had Dario Zuparic and Aniello Cutolo sent off in the first half. The Aquilotti will now take on AC Milan at the San Siro in the fifth round.

Avellino defeated Frosinone 2-1 to set up a trip to Juventus Stadium to take on the Serie A champions in the next round. Angelo D’Angelo and Luigi Castaldo scored for the Biancoverdi, while Daniel Ciofani grabbed a late consolation goal for the Canarini.

Elsewhere, Parma marched through to face Lazio in the fifth round via a 4-1 victory over Varese courtesy of strikes from Jaime Valdes, Gianni Munari, Raffaele Palladino and Aleandro Rosi. Loris Damonte scored for the Leopardi.

The last remaining fourth round fixture is on Thursday, when Sampdoria host Verona.
