Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic believes that the club’s performances have declined in recent matches, especially when compared to the way they started the season.

The Nerazzurri, who are currently preparing for their derby against AC Milan on Sunday, have failed to win their past four Serie A matches, though they still only have two losses this season and sit in fourth place on the league table.

Handanovic spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about his recent mistakes on pitch and admitted that the Biscione aren’t the same side that was on display to start the season.

“Various errors have been blamed on me, but the only one I actually made was against Parma,” said the 29-year-old.

“It appears now that the goal is to shift gears and make a positive return.

“We started the season well, but then in the past few weeks we’ve taken two steps back.

“Let’s not forget, however, that in comparison to the past, we are not a phenomenal team.

“My future? I’m only focused on Inter. If you live well in the present, the future makes itself.”
