Handanovic - Inter goalkeeper believes that the club’s performances have declined in recent matches, especially when compared to the way they started the season.

The Nerazzurri, who are currently preparing for their derby against on Sunday, have failed to win their past four matches, though they still only have two losses this season and sit in fourth place on the league table.

Handanovic spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about his recent mistakes on pitch and admitted that the Biscione aren’t the same side that was on display to start the season.

“Various errors have been blamed on me, but the only one I actually made was against ,” said the 29-year-old.

“It appears now that the goal is to shift gears and make a positive return.

“We started the season well, but then in the past few weeks we’ve taken two steps back.

“Let’s not forget, however, that in comparison to the past, we are not a phenomenal team.

“My future? I’m only focused on Inter. If you live well in the present, the future makes itself.”

- Forza Italia! I'm an Italian-American writer hailing from New York and I love calcio. You could call me an extreme Azzurri supporter and when it comes to Serie A, I mainly support Napoli (with Roma coming in a close second), though I have a great appreciation for all of the Italian teams and their players. Some of my favourite players are Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, Antonio Di Natale, Mario Balotelli, Daniele De Rossi, Lorenzo Insigne, and Francesco Totti (of course). Notice anything they have in common? Outside of Italian football, I am a fan of Liverpool and the New York Red Bulls. Follow me on Twitter for a variety of interesting tweets: @beardedlegend
