Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti would be free to leave the club in January should he wish to do so.

With AC Milan reportedly interested in securing the 30-year-old’s services, Aquile president Claudio Lotito has indicated he would be willing to move the Italy international on.

Following his side’s defeat at Torino on Sunday, newspaper Il Messagero report that Lotito was raging at a number of players, including the former Granata stopper.

“Somebody feels they have already arrived?” he snapped. “If you want to leave in January, just say so”.

Lazio have failed to win in their last six games, falling to thirteenth in Serie A, and Lotito vented his fury at a number of his squad. None bore the brunt of his displeasure as much as Marchetti, however.

The goalkeeper was told that Lazio was not a club to use as a stepping stone if ‘his gloves were already lost in red and black flames’.

Lolito is an idiot….Lazio isn’t a stepping stone?? Why? what they going to do with the squad he has assembled? He better show respect to the players like Marchetti and Candreva because if they left he would have nothing but young average guys that can not do anything. Fact is he is tight and wont buy anyone now Lazio struggle, to make matters worse Roma are flying. Lolito should sell to someone with ambition just like Inter and Roma have, Unfortunately the future is with cash…these Italian clubs can not survive on old traditions while they don’t own their own grounds, he magic of a family run club is old news these days unless your Juve who have their house in order.

Wow …. These are some statements ….
At least someone is honest and not trying to be politically correct in moving a player …
My suggestion to Milan: Get him, keep Abbiati and Gabriel.
In time of need, get someone from the primivera. Why 4 goalkeepers is way beyond me !
