Tim Krul NewcastleNapoli are reportedly ready to battle Juventus for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul during the summer transfer window.

Previous reports had the Magpies reaching out to Juventus to shop the Dutch goalkeeper, however Napoli may battle the Bianconeri as on-loan keeper Pepe Reina is expected to return to Liverpool after his loan and has long been rumoured to join Spanish giants Barcelona next season.

According to Sportsdirectnews.com, the 25-year-old Dutchman is one of the main candidates being looked at by the Partenopei and the promise of potential Champions League football may be enough to lure Krul away from England.

Krul has been in excellent form this season starting all 16 matches for Newcastle and picking up five clean sheets.

Napoli signed 23-year old Brazilian keeper Rafael from Santos this summer to serve as an understudy. Rafael has made three appearances due to a recent injury to Reina and his uneven performances have given rise to talk of them seeking another first team keeper.
