Claudio Vigorelli, agent of AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, has revealed that the player is looking to sign a one-year extension with the Rossoneri.

The 36-year-old’s current deal with the Diavolo is set to expire at the end of the season in June and he’s recently hinted that he could retire if the club decides to let him go.

Vigorelli spoke to TMW about the veteran goalkeeper’s situation at Milan and admitted that negotiations for a renewal are still yet to take place.

“There is a love between Abbiati and AC Milan which will last forever,” said the agent.

“If Milan want to renew his contract for a further season then Christian would accept because I don’t think he can see himself at another club.

“There are positive sensations, but, like always, we will have to meet with vice president Adriano Galliani.”

Christian Abbiati joined the Rossoneri from lower league side Monza in 1998 and has 251 Serie A appearances with the club thus far. He’s left Milan three times since his arrival on loan to Juventus for the 2005-06 season, Torino for the 2006-07 season and Atletico Madrid for the 2007-08 season.
